Action Alert! - Holy Cross City 4x4 Trail:
The Big Horn Jeep Club (BHJC) needs your help in the fight to save the famous Holy Cross City Trail in Colorado. Only through our combined efforts can we help insure that Holy Cross City Trail will remain OPEN for motorized recreation for many years to come.
The USFS land manager for White River National Forest has indicated approval requested trail repairs within the week. The Colorado Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs has made a huge labor donation by committing the CAFWDC annual work weekend to the Holy Cross City Trail. Now the most urgent need is for the funds to keep this historic and valuable off-road trail open.
The BHJC is in the application process for Colorado State grant funding to make several badly needed upgrades to the trail including: signs, permanent repairs of eroded sections of trail, winch anchor points, possible construction of obstacles (as a means of filtering out under equipped vehicles), and rebuilding and enlarging waiting/passing areas on the trail to cut down on damaging "off trail" traffic.
The BHJC needs your help in raising "like" and "in kind" matching funds - by donating what you can, it helps insure that the BHJC will receive all of the grant funds that it needs for this important work. An immediate commitment to those funds is needed, as the application deadline is rapidly approaching.
Your personal pledges and commitments for donations can be sent to Joshua Lowenstein via E-mail at "superdawg@4x4wire.com"
