This Top Truck Finalist made short work of insane wheel-drooping lines through the 'box.

Sluice Box Action
First in the 'box was a live-axled late-model red Toyota. He entered the box with a broken front spring hangar, and then proceeded to work Toyota Rock for five or ten minutes to no avail, until he roached his rear differential. Next up, an earlier model Toyota (with spring hangars intact) pulled up to the same obstacle, and ended being winched out the same way, with a broken front differential. Only one Toyota truck navigated the Box successfully that afternoon.

It took some serious sidehill commitment, but Jeff worked the O.D. FJ40 through the Sluice.

A few broken Toyotas later, Jeff Fretwell approached the box for a long and dramatic suspension-stretching, sidehill-slipping, boulder-bashing work fest. While he was working Toyota Rock, Bob took his TJ-grilled Commando-hybrid past him on the high line. The spectators cheered the clean runs and the bash-runs, and the action kept improving as the daylight started to fade.

Mike Ladd took his massive red Early Bronco into the Sluice and showed what 38" tires, a well-built rig, and good driving could do, flexxing for the camera. After a quick high-center on the big rock in the middle of the Sluice, the Bronco shredded the rest of the box.

Bob Roggey, not to be outdone, jumped into the Box and set his sights on the crack line. He started strong, with massive air, but ended up wedged in tight, eventually bending the SPLINES of his front driveshaft. A rollover in camp distracted most of the spectators as the action died out in the Sluicebox. Nearly an hour later, after winching UP the cliff as well as across the Sluice, Bob's Commando was yanked free. Just in time, too, because dark was falling and the raffle was spooling up.
